Bella is a 3.5 year old Spaniel
Bella can live with older children of 14+. She can live with a dog savvy cat .
Dear Bella has not had a great life in the past.
Sadly her owner is too poorly to give her the love and care she so deserves.
We are looking for an extra special home for Bella where she can learn life can be good and she has nothing to fear.
Bella may do well in a home with a steady male dog who can help her with her anxiety issues.
This is what her foster mum has to say about her:
'Bella came to me with so many problems and day by day with love, patience and understanding we started to work on her extreme anxiety. She has learnt how to trust and be loved, but from time to time she forgets this and resorts back to a little one that cries and yelps with the anticipation that what comes next might hurt.
Bella loves cuddles but only when she initiates (which is often). Sometimes she likes to be in her own space though and when in that space, is reluctant for touch. She doesn’t like to be moved by her humans.
She is still learning that being dried after a walk is ok. She tolerates it most of the time but some days is a little sensitive and will have a little meltdown when you dry her paws.
She will pull on a lead (typical spaniel) but is absolutely amazing off the lead. She never goes far away and her recall is fantastic. She’s brilliant at listening.
She loves to play. She will bring you balls, stones, sticks and we have found her new love for squeaky tug toys too.
I’ve also been running a bit with her with a running belt which she enjoys.
Bella is happy sleeping on the sofa and when left stays on the sofa too. She doesn’t really bark unless there’s someone at the door.
Bella is sometimes reluctant to go outside for a morning and evening wees and does need enticing with treats.
When she arrived she suffered a lot with anxiety wees which she has now overcome and is clean in the home 95% of the time.
Bella has so much love to give. She would ideally be with older dog savvy teenagers, no young children, she’s been fine with my dog savvy cat and although great on her own I do feel a friendly dog would maybe help her learn the basics of being a dog without needing to be afraid.'
If you think you have the ideal home for Bella, please get in touch, either by completing the Pre-Assessment form (button below) or, if you are already in our system, telephone 01209 281159 or email [email protected].
