EVERY LIFE MATTERS
Our mission is to rescue
Our dream is that one day we won't have to
The Last Chance Hotel is based in Cornwall and works hard to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abused and neglected dogs and other animals.
We aren't like other rescues; we take in the animals that are on their 'last chance:' the ex-bait and ex-fight dogs, the sick, the aged and the terminally ill. We aim to rehome as many animals as possible, but some are just too damaged to leave our sanctuary, and they come to us for peace and love before they die, after a life of neglect and abuse. No animal is ever destroyed because they cannot be homed. If you need to surrender an animal, please fill in the surrender request form here |
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE TRUSTEES Sadly, due to the overwhelming intake of wildlife we have experienced lately, along with a lack of resources and donations, we are TEMPORARILY CLOSING our doors at the sanctuary to wildlife casualties. If you find an injured animal, please take it to the nearest vet straightaway. Vets have a duty of care to treat an animal, and will already have contacts of other rehab organisations they can call. Any public finder who takes a wild animal to the vet will not be charged for its treatment. By taking the injured animal to the vet straightaway, this not only saves precious time to prevent the animal’s prolonged suffering, it could also be the difference between an animal receiving lifesaving treatment or not. At Last Chance Hotel’s sanctuary, our volunteers are still giving critical care to animals who have already been found, vet assessed and passed on to us for rehab. Whilst the vets can do what they do best at the immediate point of you finding any wildlife, our volunteers will concentrate on the lives already in our care. This following link is a useful, informative guide and resource on what to do should you find injured wildlife. It has specific catching, handling and care information for different species of animals and following its guidelines will enable you to help any animal you find: https://helpwildlife.co.uk/advice/wildlife-casualties/ Click this link to The Bat Conservation Trust website for info on how to contain an injured or grounded bat. |

Last Chance Hotel was founded in 2011 by a group of dedicated animal lovers with Sam B'Stard at its heart.
Sam's commitment to the welfare of all creatures great and small was the driving force in building LCH's reputation as a domestic animal rescue, giving the chance of a happy life to countless animals, including cats, ponies, small rodents and many hundreds of dogs previously doomed to either an uncertain future or no future at all. In early 2021, Last Chance Hotel lost Sam to cancer at the age of 53. Her dearest wish was that the LCH team continue her work and ensure the charity lived on to help those in need. This video is dedicated to Sam & all she has done for LCH. |
