FOREVER HOME NEEDED

STATS
Age: 9 years
Breed: Crossbreed
Likes: Food, belly rubs
Dislikes: The outside world is a bit scary

Other Important Information:
Child free home needed
Not assessed with cats
Layla, a good old crossbreed, is around 9 years old.
This girl is looking for a savvy forever home.
Layla needs a home with no children and she is not assessed with cats.

This is what her foster mum has to say about her:
'Layla is an amazing girl wrapped up in a bundle of anxieties. Having lived a very sheltered and loveless life everything in the outside world is a bit scary; this manifests into reactiveness from Layla that will need ongoing work.
Underneath her anxieties is an extremely loving dog who desperately wants to please. Layla is very food orientated which helps with training, she is food protective around other dogs though so is best fed and treated alone.
Layla would be best as an only dog or with one or two calm dogs who won't react to her. If dogs ignore her, she ignores them, if they react, she will retaliate.
She currently shares she spaces with 2 other female dogs with no problems.
Layla has been brilliant meeting people in the home, especially if they have a treat! Outside the home people can cause a reaction from her, mostly warning barks. Layla has shown no aggression towards people while in foster.

Separation anxiety is a smaller issue with Layla. She is not destructive, but will bark when first left alone, she does quickly settle down though and is best left within a room rather than having the run of a house.

In the home Layla is clean, calm and not attention demanding. She likes to be near her people without smothering them. She does love a belly rub and a scooch but isn't so keen on full on snuggles. She's good to brush, clean eyes, ears etc.

Layla has a lot of potential, she may be an older girl but she is not done learning new tricks. She's come so far in foster, now she's ready to move onto her next adventure with people who will be patient and allow her time to grow.'
