As a registered charity, Last Chance Hotel relies solely on the generosity of our supporters to continue our work in rescuing animals of all kinds. A gift to our charity will enable us to protect and bring to safety more vulnerable dogs and other animals. It will help us to rehabilitate and rehome those animals, or provide a caring home for life. Your gift will give us the opportunity to educate, inform and promote responsible pet ownership so that in the future there may be less cruelty and abuse to animals.

To make it easier for your family and friends... Without a Will, the law will decide what happens to your estate and this could create additional difficulties and worries for your loved ones. To help protect the rights of your partner... If you and your partner aren't married or are in a civil partnership, you don't have the same automatic rights as those who are married. You can make sure your partner is looked after by naming them in your Will. To help minimise Inheritance Tax... If you have made a Will, it can help reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax that needs to be paid on your estate. |

How to leave us a gift in your Will
If you haven't already made a Will, then it's best to hire a solicitor to ensure that all the legal procedures are followed. This is not necessarily an expensive process. Ask around for recommendations, and have a look at your local solicitors' websites. You can also get in touch with us directly for advice.
If you have already made a Will, but would like to leave a gift to Last Chance Hotel, you can make a simple addition called a codicil. Your solicitor will be able to arrange this for you.
Free and Low Cost Will Writing Schemes
Currently there are two schemes in which the cost of writing or updating a will is greatly reduced, or even free:
Free Wills Month happens every March and October, allowing those aged 55 and over to get a solicitor-drafted (or updated) will for free – though it's hoped you'll leave something to charity.
Will Aid, which runs annually in November, is a UK-wide campaign involving nine charities. Hundreds of solicitors offer to write basic wills for any adult. They waive their usual fee, and instead invite you to make a donation to Will Aid. The suggested donations are £100 for a single will or £180 for a pair of basic 'mirror wills', which is distributed among the charities. If you can't afford it, you can give less.
