Covid 19 and the impact on the sanctuary...

We hope all of our wonderful supporters are staying safe and well.
The impact of Covid-19 on the charity sector is really starting to be felt. From the loss of our volunteers to the difficulties that we are facing in getting supplies to the sanctuary, the strain is being felt and we know it is not over yet.
Last Chance Hotel is best known for our dogs, but we are so much more than that. We have so many animals at the sanctuary that needed help, and we are there to answer their call: ducks, geese, goats, horses, cats, bats and various wildlife that passes through our doors, we never turn away animals that need us, even when we are financially on our knees, as we are now.
As many of our long-term supporters will know, Sam, the founder of  Last Chance Hotel, has been diagnosed with cancer. Sam is a fighter, and she is going through all the treatments that she is offered, whilst still getting up everyday and doing what she can for the sanctuary, as we are not in a position to be employing staff to look after our rescues. Not only is Sam herself an integral part of the charities day to day work, but the wages she earns off of her paid job is a huge financial boost to the charity finances. However, due to Sam's deteriorating health, she has been unable to work and this is having an unfortunate rippling effect on the money coming into the sanctuary.
We never want to be in a position where an animal needs us and we cannot help them due to money; but donations are down, which means unfortunately this could be a reality in the near future.
If everyone who supports us could just donate the price of a cup of coffee, it could really make a difference to some animals, who's lives we work so hard to change.
From us, and them, we are so grateful.
