Update on our Cindy... well the horrid masses in her mouth have been removed, as was 17 of her teeth as they were pushed out of line, and must have been so painful. The material that came out of her ear was solid, like stones, and she has a UTI caused by a bacteria that is resistant to antibiotics, various lumps and bumps, some really suspect and worrying. However, Cindy is home at the sanctuary now, she has had some pain relief and is now sleeping off the anesthetic. We were told that Cindy the much loved pet, who had nothing wrong with her, just a few 'fatty lumps and bumps' massive THANK YOU to everyone who has donated towards her vet bill, we are humbled. From 22nd October: At the vets with Cindy for her big operation to sort the ear infection and the masses and her teeth out in her mouth also check her over whilst she is under a GA ... hopefully she will be a lot more comfortable after... healing thoughts for her please... if you can help towards her costs we would be so grateful.  From Monday 21st: Well we have had the worst of times these last 2 weeks. Owner surrenders !!!! All we ever ask of people is 'DON'T LIE TO US' it doesn't matter what is wrong with your dog, we will help if we can. We pride ourselves on being responsible rescue, we will only take in what we can afford and what space we have ... but because of people's lies ( which we are very much used to) it has sent us at LCH into a financial crisis... you may have seen the boy Zeus (5 years old) , extremely thin, serious skin condition and very unwell.. his vet bill so far is £500 ish... Ena the little pug ( 5 years old) with a collapsed larynx, her bill will top 2k, Blue the french bulldog ( 1 year old) who has a serious skin issue and major ear infection, and now this little girl .. this is Cindy.. Cindy is 14 years old. She came to us yesterday, fine apparently.. just a few 'old age' lumps and bumps according to her vet... well I wouldn't say these are fatty lumps and bumps would you? She has a massive ear infection that has got so bad that she has no balance, a UTI that stinks and this... this is pretty hard to miss dont you think? All these ailments in all these dogs have been left untreated that it has made each of these dogs seriously ill. These are not problems that happen over night, but over months, years even. Each owner has cried crocodile tears over these dogs.. each owner knows the extent if the damage they have caused, each owner was happy to pass their 'problems' onto a charity... discarding their rubbish... out of sight out of mind 😥😥 we know there are some genuine people who need help, and we have never turned our back, we have paid vet bills to keep a loved dog in their homes, we have helped rehome dogs when owners could not cope etc, but to blatantly keep your dog sick, and not seek vet help, especially when those dogs have earned you a tidy sum producing litter after litter is wrong in every way .. ... Everyone, please meet the beautiful Cindy. Who cowers and wets herself at the slightest of movement, who will attempt to run away in fear of everything, who will destroy your soul when you see her crawl on her belly to get away from the kindest of hands... tomorrow she will be having her mouth looked at under a GA .. those awful lumps that are pushing her teeth out, making her mouth so sore it is difficult for her to eat.. she is 14, unspay and has mammary tumours. There is nothing we can do about that :-( a mammary strip would be too much as would spaying her. So we plan on making her comfortable and pain free for now and give her the best of times and all our love for the time she has left with us ...
